The State’s Legislative Budget and Finance Committee has issued an interesting report analyzing the economic impact of the brewery industry in Pennsylvania. It’s a very comprehensive work with plenty of historical info and current data on the industry.

The answer to that equation today is obviously Comcast.  But 100 years ago, in 1913, the answer was Curtis Publishing,  whose weekly Saturday Evening Post and Ladies’ Home Journal magazines were the most popular and profitable publications of their time.

DCED LOWERS INTEREST RATES TO 1.5%

The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has announced it is lowering the interest rates for the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund (MELF), the Small Business First Program (SBF), the Pollution Prevention Assistance Program (PPAA), and the Export Financing Program (EFP) from 2.75 percent to 1.50 percent.  Additionally, the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA)

PHILADELPHIA PARTNERSHIP RECEIVES GRANT FOR ADVANCED MANUFACTURING ACCELERATOR

This past October, a Philadelphia-based partnership led by the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC) with participation and support from PIDC was successfully awarded a $1,892,000 grant from the federal government for the creation of an Advanced Manufacturing Accelerator focused on transportation equipment.
