The meeting’s purpose is to inform the community of upcoming remediation and solicit public comments regarding the Authority's draft ABCA to the Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA").

COMMUNITY MEETING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public meeting will be held remotely by the Authority on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 10:00AM via online web conference with an option to call in via phone. The meeting’s purpose is to inform the community of upcoming remediation and solicit public comments regarding the Authority’s draft ABCA to the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”).

Meeting access instructions will be e-mailed upon registration. All interested parties will be afforded an opportunity to comment on the ABCA. Please click the button below to register for the public meeting.

EPA Brownfield Cleanup

The Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development (the “Authority”) received a $2,000,000 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Brownfield Cleanup Grant. The purpose of this grant is to address elevated concentrations of regulated substances in soil and groundwater at the site known as the 49th Street Terminal site. This site has also been entered into the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PADEP) Voluntary Cleanup Program and a Remedial Investigation Report (RIR)/Cleanup Plan (CP) was submitted to the PADEP for review and approval. PADEP’s approval is expected end of July and Site work is anticipated to commence Fall of 2026.
