It’s not often these achievements are recognized publicly so we wanted to share with you some of the recent news of just a few of our clients.

  • The Philadelphia Business Journal will recognize Luis Torrado owner of Torrado Construction and James Eley owner of Eley Electrical Contractors as Minority Business Leaders during an awards ceremony on August 28, 2015. Luis Torrado is a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses graduate.  James Eley has been in business for over 30 years working with residential and commercial contracts. Eley Electrical Contractors is a certified Minority Business Enterprise and is located in the Germantown Section of Philadelphia.
  • Environmental Construction Services and John Pomp Studios are on the list of the fastest-growing private companies in America ranked by Inc. 5000.  Environmental Construction Services is a full service HVAC construction company. It’s President and Founder, Michael A. Brown is a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses graduate and recently relocated his headquarters to The Navy Yard. John Pomp Studios specializes in handcrafted blown glass, lighting and furniture. Most recently its designs were featured in Elle Decor and Interiors Magazines and a business segment for CNN.

  • Lydell Williams of Keystone Tile and Marble has been elected President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Society of Professional Estimators.  The American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) is a national organization of construction estimators with a local chapter in the Philadelphia region, the Liberty Bell Chapter.   The American Society of Professional Estimators serves construction estimators by providing education, fellowship and opportunity for professional development. Lydell Willams is a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses graduate.
  • Emily Bittenbender of Bittenbender Construction recently became the first female chairperson of the General Building Contractors Association.  Bittenbender Construction, LP is a commercial general contractor that specializes in cultural, academic, health care, corporate and retail projects. Bittenbender’s recent projects include Paine’s Park and a multi-year general contract award for Drexel University.

  •  Cloudnexa, an industry-leading managed cloud provider that helps clients realize the full utility power of cloud computing on Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been chosen as one of the Top 25 Most Promising Cloud Services Vendors by Outsourcing Gazette, a leading platform for news, analysis and thought leadership in the outsourcing community. Cloudnexa won the recognition after a rigorous selection process by a panel of analysts, industry experts, CEOs, CIOs, and the publication’s editorial team. Cloudnexa is a tenant at The Navy Yard.
  • Carlos Vega , a WartonMBA and Penn grad, and co-founder of  Tesorio, recently graduated from the Y Combinator. Twice a year the Y Combinator invests a small amount of money ($120k) in a large number of startups (most recently 85). The startups move to Silicon Valley for 3 months, during which the Y Combinator works intensively with them to get the company into the best possible shape and refine their pitch to investors. Each cycle culminates in Demo Day, when the startups present their companies to a carefully selected, invite-only audience. Tesorio got $100,000 in funding from the city’s StartUp PHL angel fund last fall. The company helps vendors get paid faster.
