M Santos Interiors LLC turns moments into memories. Founded in 2018 by Martha Santos, this interior design and event planning company specializes in cohesive and visually stunning events. What began as a teenage passion for decorating has blossomed into a successful business that’s redefining Greater Philadelphia’s events industry.

Santos has a background in interior design and continued her education at Community College of Philadelphia, getting degrees in both Facility Management in Design and Facility Management in Construction, plus a certificate in Architectural Visualization. She started taking on decorating jobs part-time while getting her degree.“When the opportunity arose, I opened my own business,” said Santos. “Along the way, I also completed training and classes in event planning and decoration, which helped me turn my passion into a full-time career.”

The event planning industry is fast-paced, with best-practices and trends always evolving. But Santos is always one step ahead. When asked how she keeps her business ahead of the curves, she said, “I stay innovative by continuously taking training and classes to keep up with the latest trends and techniques in the industry.”

“Attending workshops from PIDC has helped me grow my business… [and] learn new management strategies that have made my operations more efficient.”

Some of the training she relies on are PIDC’s Business Builder Workshops en Español, spanish-taught workshops which address a variety of business topics led by Hispanic and Latino(a) professionals. These classes have enabled Santos to advance her business. “Attending workshops from PIDC has helped me grow my business in several concrete ways,” said Santos. “I learned new management strategies that have made my operations more efficient. Additionally, the networking opportunities provided by PIDC allowed me to connect with new clients, leading to more event bookings. As a result, I’ve been able to expand my business and increase revenue.”

The company has grown in both experience and management. “Over time, I’ve refined the way I run the business, which has allowed me to expand and improve different aspects of it,” said Santos. “I’ve learned a lot through experience, which has helped me become more efficient and effective in growing the business.” She focuses on a wide range of interior design options, including conceptual design, space planning, and decor, and many eventing planning services, including floral design, event coordination, and seasonal decor.

When asked to share a memorable moment from her business journey, Santos shared a special moment when she was able to save a wedding. “I received a call just four days before a wedding,” said Santos. “The bride had been referred to me by  a vendor friend . To make matters more challenging, the day of the wedding, the venue was relocated due to flooding accidents at the venue . Despite the tight timeline, I was able to secure a new venue just ten minutes away. I successfully completed the decorations and ensured that everything was ready on time. It was a stressful situation, but seeing the wedding go off without a hitch was incredibly rewarding.”

M Santos Interiors is a testament to how passion, dedication, and continuous learning can transform a dream into a thriving business. With support from resources like PIDC’s Business Builder Workshops en Español, Santos has been able to refine her skills, expand her network, and grow her business. She exemplifies what it means to be a leader in the event planning industry.

As her business continues to grow and evolve, Santos remains resolute in her commitment to excellence and her ability to turn moments into cherished experiences for every client she serves.
