Situated on corner of 2nd and Brown Streets along a commercial corridor in Northern Liberties section of the city is Casa Papel, a boutique paper design and print company owned by business partners, Cecilia Torres and Nestor Torres.  Casa Papel is welcoming with its picturesque storefront and walls lined with over 325 kinds of paper from 15 different countries.  Cecilia felt inspired to open Casa Papel in 2009 after having a difficult time designing the perfect invitation for her wedding, as no place was able to capture her creativity.

After years of growing in their retail location, Cecilia and Nestor expanded into the world of online sales.  The Torres’ used financing from PIDC to create an e-commerce site for Casa Papel. They worked with fellow Philadelphia small business owners and PIDC borrowers, Tracey and Mia Levesque of YIKES, to design and launch the e-commerce site.

In 2010, Casa Papel was recognized as a “Best of Philly” for Best Stationary.  Nestor Torres is a board member of the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  Nestor is also a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program.
