Arena: Design Consulting Services

Requesting proposals from architecture firms and/or teams with expertise in arena design in an urban environment, including experience in public realm design, retail accommodation and signage layout with respect to the proposed new sports arena in Center City.

PIDC is seeking an architecture and design team for on-call consulting and advisory services in relation to the Project to support the Department of Planning and Development, inclusive of the Planning Commission and Art Commission, tasked with reviewing the Project.


The City of Philadelphia has initiated an independent and comprehensive evaluation of the impact, opportunities, and challenges posed by a proposed sports arena on the 1000 block of Market Street, first proposed by the Philadelphia 76ers in summer 2022.

The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) is requesting proposals to support the City of Philadelphia’s review and analysis of the Sixers proposed new sports arena in Center City Philadelphia.

Studies will assess building design, community impact and urban planning, economic impact, and parking/traffic impact. As the City’s partner and lead economic development agency, PIDC will facilitate the City’s due diligence regarding the impact of the project to the city and the surrounding communities and is issuing requests for proposals (RFPs) to evaluate these considerations.
