On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce hosted the inaugural Women in Manufacturing and Industry Conference at Cardone Industries, sponsored by PIDC. The Conference was a spin-off from the Women in Business Conference held in April, and the concept was a suggestion from Christin Cardone McClave to continue the conversation and support women in manufacturing.

The event emulated a TED Talk as seven presenters offered valuable information including a detailed presentation from Christin McClave on the history and direction of Cardone Industries. Areas of discussions included:

Corporate Culture: Using Culture to Build Partnerships
Presented by: Stacie Runion, Director of Organizational Development, of Cardone Industries

Law: Human Resource Challenges Do’s and Dont’s
Presented by: Daniel P. McElhatton, Esq., of McElhatton and Foley, P.C.

Health: Cancer: Thrive through the battle
Presented by: Taba Wilcox, MS, SHRM-CP, of Cancer Treatment Centers of America

Finance: Financial Trends and Updates
Presented by: Gregory Klipstein, VP, of TD Wealth Private Client Group

Sales: Who is a Salesperson?
Presented by: Lisa Peskin, CEO, of Business Development University

Funding: Where to find it, how to get it
Presented by: Heather Hanowitz, VP of Business Development, of PIDC

“We look forward to growing the Conference and expanding our support for women in manufacturing and industry for years to come,” says Pam Henshall, president of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to partner with PIDC and Cardone Industries to champion manufacturing and highlight the positive impact women have in evolving industries across the spectrum.”

“It was an honor being included in this inaugural event and I am committed to continuing the conversation as PIDC, together with the City, supports the advancement of women in industry through our training and financing programs, said Heather Hanowitz.
