The Tactile Group is a 14-person team, located in Philadelphia’s Midtown Village.  Founded in 2004 by Marc Coleman, it initially focused on graphic design for print media, but has grown into a web development and creative services company specializing in website design, application development, and content management systems.  During the past 14 years, the company has offered services to government entities, non-profits, and large and small businesses. Tactile is African American-owned and LGBTQ-owned.

The Tactile Group has been a PIDC client since 2014 when they got a Working Capital and Equipment loan to help finance costs associated with a Department of Education contract. Initially, Tactile experienced difficulty accessing conventional financing but PIDC was able to offer Marc the flexibly he needed. As a result of Tactile’s successful performance, the Department of Education expanded Tactile’s scope of work and they were also able to secure several additional contracts. In 2015, PIDC was able to work with Tactile to secure a Contract Line of Credit to help cover cashflow on the expanded contracts.

Since that time, the Tactile Group has continued to grow and expand.  Recent works from the Tactile Group include the rollout of Amazon HQ2 Philadelphia Delivers website, as well as MikeNutterLLC.com, the City of Boston’s Intranet, and a first-of-its-kind cloud based mobile application for the U.S. Department of Education, that is both secure and accessible for educators.

Marc is a proud graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at the Community College of Philadelphia. Marc credits PIDC with helping him grow his business and return The Tactile Group to profitability. We look forward to seeing more exciting work from The Tactile Group in the future!
