ArtsandBizOn May 8th, the Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia (ABC) will host its 28th Annual Awards Celebration. ABC strengthens the region’s creative sector, including arts, culture and for-profit creative businesses, by engaging the business, legal & technology communities, providing capacity-building services, and serving as a thought leader and a convener.  The awards ceremony provides ABC the opportunity to recognize exceptional leaders, innovators, partnerships and volunteers who have contributed to the exchange of talent and energy between these sectors in the Philadelphia region. For a list of the honorees and for more information on the event, visit ABC’s website at www.artsandbusinessphila.org/awards2013.

PIDC, as a partner with ABC, is a proud sponsor of the Award Art for the event, which was created by PIDC client, The Clay Studio.  PIDC has provided services to over 100 arts and culture institutions in the past five years totaling close to $495 Million in loans, tax exempt financing, and grant administration, which leveraged more than $800 Million dollars of additional investment in Philadelphia’s arts and culture community. In addition, PIDC has worked with many creative economy businesses to help them with their capital needs. Two ABC awardees are PIDC clients, The Barnes, and Shooters, Inc. PIDC’s 2012 Annual Review provides examples of how PIDC supported two non-profit arts and culture organizations, the Arden Theatre and the Philadelphia Zoo, and a creative business, Kevin O’Brien Studio.  We encourage all supporters of Philadelphia’s creative sector to join us and ABC in celebrating the wonderful accomplishments of these organizations, businesses, and volunteers who have helped make Philadelphia the #1 city in the nation for culture.
