Less than two years ago, Mark Group, a U.K. based company, selected The Navy Yard in Philadelphia as the home for their U.S. headquarters following a coordinated business attraction effort between the City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Select Greater Philadelphia and PIDC. Today, Mark Group USA proudly employs over 70 associates and has helped thousands of Delaware Valley homeowners enjoy the comfort and savings of an energy efficient home.

Mark Group has quickly outgrown their first office and warehouse location, and has moved to a brand new, 15,000 square foot location in The Navy Yard’s Commerce Center at 4050 S. 26th Street. Developed by Liberty Property Trust and Synterra Partners, the new facility includes office and warehouse space, as well as the Mark Group Academy training center. As you would expect, Mark Group’s new LEED certified space was designed with energy efficiency in mind: energy use per office cubicle is just 5 watts, and the warehouse space is only 4 watts per square foot with high efficiency reflector lighting and sensor controls.

PIDC was pleased to have provided financing to Mark Group to support the fit-out of its new space through the PIDC Growth Loan program. Mark Group has also worked closely with Philadelphia Works, Inc., the city’s workforce development corporation, to recruit, hire, and train new employees who are also Philadelphia residents. Mark Group is rapidly growing, with plans to have over 100 employees by year’s end, and has recently expanded into the Northern and Southern New Jersey markets. Congratulations and well wishes to Mark Group! For more information, visit
