We are thrilled to welcome three new members to our PIDC Board of Directors. Meet our new members, Miguel Alban of Multicultural Banking Group, Jovan Goldstein of JT Goldstein, LLC, and Thomas A. K. Queenan of Mission First Housing Group.

MIGUEL ALBAN

Senior Vice President & National Director
Multicultural Banking Group, Customers Bank

Miguel Alban is a senior vice president and national director of Multicultural Banking for Customers Bank. Miguel also serves as the Honorary Consul of Peru in Philadelphia and was the past Vice President of the Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia. 

Previous Experience

Prior to Customers Bank, Miguel served as a vice president of Multicultural Banking for Bryn Mawr Trust and has also served as Director of Hispanic Banking for Truist Financial (formerly BB&T). Miguel was the founder of The Hispanic Approach and the Hola Magazines marketing agencies focused on multicultural markets. 

Professional, Corporate, Civic Leadership

Miguel currently serves and has served as a board member for many organizations across the Greater Philadelphia region, including Congreso de Latinos Unidos (current chairman of the board), the Malvern Preparatory School, the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Philadelphia, The Chester County Food Bank, The YMCA of the Greater Brandywine, Baker Industries, the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce, and La Comunidad Hispana. Miguel was the recipient of the “40 under 40’ award in 2021 by Al Día News, and the “40 under 40” award in 2020 by the Philadelphia Business Journal as well as the “Thanks for Caring” award in 2014 by the Chester County Community Foundation for his community involvement and numerous contributions. Miguel has been an Adjunct Professor of Spanish at several Philadelphia-area Universities, including Villanova University, Cabrini University, and Immaculata University.

Additional Experience 

Miguel earned his law degree from the University of Piura, Peru. He earned his master’s degree in international law from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and he is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Stonier School of Banking. 

JOVAN GOLDSTEIN

Founder & Managing Principal
JT Goldstein, LLC

Jovan Goldstein is founder and managing principal of JT Goldstein, LLC, a Certified Public Accounting Firm (“CPA”), based in Philadelphia. Jovan oversees the firm’s audit & assurance and tax departments. He serves as an engagement partner and business advisor to the firm’s clients and provides leadership on various audit, tax, CFO advisory, and technical engagements. 

Previous Experience

Jovan has 25 years of certified public accounting experience and prior to creating his own firm was a partner in a regional size firm. Mr. Goldstein has published articles in industry related publications such as Accounting Today and the Pennsylvania CPA Journal

Professional, Corporate, Civic Leadership

A frequent speaker, he is a participant of the AICPA’s CPA Ambassador Program and taught at Temple University. Under Jovan’s leadership, JTGoldstein has developed a financial literacy program that requires both parent and child attendance to teach the household simultaneously across generations. Jovan is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania, New York, and District of Columbia. His charitable involvement includes Philadelphia Film Society, African American Chamber of Commerce, and Logan Community Development Corporation.

Additional Experience 

Jovan graduated with honors from Cheyney State University with a degree in accounting, where he was a scholar athlete. He also successfully completed: “Launching New Ventures”at Harvard Business School, where he developed new strategies for transforming a disruptive innovation into a competitive advantage and profitable business.

THOMAS A. K. QUEENAN

Chief Executive Officer
Mission First Housing Group

Thomas Queenan joined Mission First Housing Group in June 2022 as its new chief executive officer. Thomas reports to the Mission First’s Board of Directors and works collaboratively with executive and director-level staff members in each of Mission First’s business lines (development, construction, property management, and resident services) and shared services to oversee, develop, and implement the strategic plan, ensuring the organization consistently achieves its mission and financial objectives.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Mission First, Thomas served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC). During his tenure at PIDC, Thomas was responsible for leading the organization’s financial reporting, accounting and business operations, including IT and data management, human resources and facilities. His work at PIDC was built on more than 30 years of diverse finance, project and operations experience, including spending more than a decade in senior finance and operations roles at Temple University Health System, Dickinson College and the Milton Hershey School and Trust. Thomas also worked as a licensed architect for ten years, and spent a decade working in public finance, both in the private sector and in Philadelphia City Government as Deputy Treasurer and City Treasurer during the Rendell Administration.

Additional Experience 

Thomas is a Philadelphia native. While a notable part of his professional experience was spent in the city he still calls home, at various points throughout his career, Thomas worked across the Mid-Atlantic region including Central Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia.  Thomas is a graduate from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He also has a master’s degree in architecture and city planning from Columbia University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
