DCED_JPG_LogoHarrisburg – Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary C. Alan Walker announced in December that the Governor’s Action Team (GAT) has filled two vacancies in its Southeast office to work with the region’s economic development groups to promote business growth, retention and expansion in the region.

“Governor Tom Corbett is committed to transforming state government from a roadblock to an advocate for growth that partners with business to grow the economy and create jobs,” Walker said. “Re-staffing the Southeast regional office continues this transformation and will result in a more coordinated effort to promote regional business development efforts.”

Norman P. Hetrick Jr. will serve as the Southeast Regional Office Director.  Prior to his current position, Hetrick served more than 10 years as senior project manager for a Harrisburg area commercial real estate development firm. He also worked for four years as a business attraction specialist for the Mayor’s Business Action Team in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for business recruitment efforts for the city.

“I am excited to return to the economic development community of Greater Philadelphia,” Hetrick said. “I look forward to advancing the Corbett Administration’s commitment to job creation by attracting new businesses and retaining existing companies in the Southeast.”

Thomas Rossomando will serve as the development specialist for the Southeast GAT office.  He most recently served as the budget director at DCED where he instituted programs and procedures that resulted in improved efficiencies and greater return on investment for the state.  Prior to joining DCED, Rossomando worked for nearly 20 years as a senior trader for several securities firms.

The Governor’s Action Team, or GAT, is a group of economic development professionals who work directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. GAT provides site selection assistance, coordinates the involvement of other state agencies as needed, and packages the appropriate economic development funding for the project. Headquartered in Harrisburg, GAT also maintains offices in Erie, Lewisburg, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Scranton.

The Southeast regional office is located at 200 S. Broad St., Eleventh Floor, Philadelphia. The office serves Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
