Bittenbender Construction, LP is a 100% woman-owned business, founded and lead by Emily Bittenbender since 2003.  The 80-person Bittenbender team is located at Pier 5 between Christopher Columbus Blvd and the Delaware River.  Bittenbender Construction, LP is a commercial general contractor, focused on cultural, academic, health care, corporate and retail projects.  Emily is committed to diversity for her company, evident in her team and their projects.

Emily was first a client of PIDC through the Contract Line of Credit financing program, which provides support to small, minority-, women-, and disabled-owned businesses in need of a line of credit to fund contract-related working capital.  A true success story, Bittenbender has grown so efficaciously solidifying their credit profile, they have graduated from the program.

Bittenbender’s portfolio includes the renovation of Love Park, which encompasses a redesign of the JFK Plaza and Love Park, as well as the Fairmont Welcome Center.  The completion of this project celebrates the parks 50th Anniversary.  Their work also includes several developments for Drexel University, including the W.W. Hagerty Library and the expansion of the Korman Center.  Bittenbender served as general contractor for exhibits in the National Museum of American Jewish History and The Please Touch Museum, as well as renovations to the Independence Visitor Center.  Bittenbender Construction’s impact is evident across the city and across industry.
