Another successful MED Week is in the books! The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Economic Opportunity hosted the 42nd annual MED Week from October 5th through October 9th, partnering with economic development organizations across the city. This year’s theme was “Advancing Economic Opportunity for All.”

Our team organized, hosted, and attended workshops and events throughout the city, offering resources to help business owners and entrepreneurs grow and thrive. Check out some of the events we were a part of:

Business Opportunity Forum 2026

We unofficially kicked off the week the Friday before with the Philadelphia International Airport’s Business Opportunity Forum. The event helped prepare business owners for upcoming contracting opportunities at the airport, as well as networking opportunities and connections with leaders from the Department of Aviation. Several PIDC team members attended the event to provide resources for business owners looking for capital and business support services.

MED Week Kickoff Breakfast & Awards

On Monday morning, we headed to the National Constitution Center for the MED Week Kickoff Breakfast and Awards Ceremony, celebrating businesses making an impact in our community. The event featured inspiring speakers and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Capital, Capacity & Commerce Workshop

Tuesday was a packed day full of resource sharing. We started the day at SEPTA’s Capital, Capacity & Commerce Workshop, which provided entrepreneurs with the knowledge, connections and resources they need to compete for contracts. We joined partners from across the city to offer support for attendees.

Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet, Prosperity

Then we headed to the Philadelphia Ethical Society for Independence Business Alliance and Sustainable Business Network’s Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet, Prosperity.
