For B Balanced CPA (BBCPA), accounting is about so much more than balancing spreadsheets — it’s about helping mission-driven organizations build the financial stability they need to create lasting change. Founded in 2022, this Philadelphia-based firm partners with nonprofits, small businesses, and purpose-centered organizations to align their financial strategies with their values and long-term goals. Through services including bookkeeping, cash flow management, audit preparation, and strategic consulting, BBCPA helps clients strengthen their operations so they can focus on the communities and causes they serve.

Led by Owner and CEO Danielle Reasoner, the firm combines financial expertise with a people-first approach. A longtime Philadelphia resident, Reasoner is a passionate runner and gardener who also enjoys sailing, record collecting, and crafts like quilting.

“BBCPA is focused on supporting non-profits and mission driven organizations to thrive financially in order to create lasting, positive change in both our community here in Philadelphia and beyond,” said Reasoner.

The company also offers an educational course called Money Skills Matter, which “puts our tools in the hands of those who may not have the ability or need to hire a full time Accountant.”

How PIDC Financing Helped BBCPA Grow

Reasoner first connected with PIDC in fall 2025 while proactively preparing for business challenges affecting some of her clients. “I reached out to PIDC initially because I had some clients that were struggling and I wanted to prepare for that,” she said. “Mainly the support is being used to expand capacity and provide professional development for staff. I want to ensure that my staff is fully supported so that they can grow personally and with the business.”

With support from PIDC, BBCPA has made real strides. “PIDC has given us the ability to expand hours for our part-time employees so that we can prepare to bring on new clients and give us all a little breathing room,” Reasoner said. “This has allowed me to offload some of my tasks to employees so that I can focus on business development to expand our network.”

As a certified B Corp, sustainability and ethical business practices are deeply embedded into the company’s operations and culture. “We want to show that just because the majority of our business exists digitally, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have a focus on the impact we have on the environment,” shared Reasoner.

BBCPA encourages employees to prioritize certified B Corps and ethically sourced local businesses when making purchasing decisions, both professionally and personally. “Since we are spread out across the country, our Impact Tracker is specific to every employee and helps pinpoint local options,” said Reasoner.  “We encourage use of public transit and shopping for used/reusable and local products whenever possible. We also encourage the use of sourcing electricity from renewables.”

One of Reasoner’s proudest sustainability moments came through a creative reimagining of traditional business cards.

“I believe my favorite decision so far was to use my typewriter (shoutout to Philly Typewriter) to create personal business cards for each of us,” she shared. “I bought locally made paper that has a layer of herb seeds, so that they can be environmentally regenerative and not just sit in your desk drawer.”

BBCPA’s commitment to supporting nonprofits, underserved communities, and mission-driven businesses is grounded in the belief that business can be a powerful driver for positive change. Through scaled pricing for nonprofits and organizations advancing social, economic, and environmental impact, the firm works to make high-quality financial guidance more accessible while helping clients build paths for long-term growth.

As BBCPA continues to grow, its focus remains on championing community builders and purpose-driven businesses that are creating stronger, more connected communities.
