AdoptASchoolProgramPIDC is a big advocate of serving our community. PIDC’s Employee Engagement Committee recently spearheaded two projects to allow PIDC employees to support two deserving organizations.

The first initiative was sponsoring  Joseph W. Catherine Elementary School, for which we held a clothing and supplies drive where PIDC was able to collect over 400 items for students in need.  The school’s Principal Patricia Hunter had this to say about PIDC, “Your generous gift of warm hats, gloves, scarves, socks and underwear is greatly appreciated by our staff and certainly by the families who will be the recipients of your generous hearts. We are grateful and touched by your efforts to reach out and care for those who may be less fortunate. Your thoughtfulness and efforts will do much to warm not only the bodies of our children, but their hearts as well.”

The second initiative was supporting the March of Dimes “Blue Jeans for Babies” campaign.  PIDC raised $300 and everyone was able to wear their favorite pair of blue jeans to work. All proceeds went to the March of Dimes organization. The mission of the March of Dimes is to help moms have full-term pregnancies, and provide continued research aimed at solving the problems that threaten the health of babies.

It gives us great pleasure to know our donations and time are going to those who truly need  and appreciate our help. These are just some of the community service projects PIDC has been involved in and we look forward to supporting other organizations in their mission to improve the quality of life for those in need.
