M&T Bank is dedicated to their small business customers. Chad Shank, Vice President, was able to identify the financing need of Outcast Studios would be a good fit for PIDC. He served as a trusted advisor and referred them to PIDC due to their expertise with the industry and lending need. Chad knows that PIDC can help small businesses access the capital they need to grow.

Outcast Studios is a bronze and glass foundry in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, they can take on casting in ceramic shell and resin-bonded sand, all types of fabrication resin projects, mold making and copper forming. Owners Greg and Kelly Nangle specialize in jobs that are either believed to be impossible or extremely difficult, and as such, they receive work from all over the world. Their work has been featured in Hidden City Philadelphia.

Since 2007, Greg and Kelly have been running their business out of its Fishtown location. One of their favorite projects was working on castings for H.R. Giger, a talented artist known for creating the creatures in the movie Alien. They were able to travel to Switzerland to visit and work with Giger at his home and at the Giger Museum located in a castle in Gruyeres. As Outcast Studios became more successful, they knew there was opportunity to expand and improve the quality of their equipment.  They reviewed their goals with M&T Bank and it was determined the project would be most successful bringing in a partner. Because of the dedication they have to support small business growth, M&T Bank continued to help Outcast Studios and referred them to the opportunities available from PIDC. We were able to help Outcast Studios with a Working Capital & Equipment Loan to support their purchase of machinery and equipment, website upgrade for e-commerce capabilities, marketing and working capital.

We have been thrilled to work with our partner, M&T Bank, to help a small business continue their growth in Philadelphia, accessing the financing they need.
